Situation: Housekeeping or turndown approaches occupied room with DND

DND and guest privacy are absolute; service remains discreet.
Step sequence
Step 1 · Observe
If DND is displayed, do not knock, do not enter, do not slide items that force entry.
Step 2 · Log + offer alternate
Record DND. Service later when cleared, or leave a discreet offer card only if brand standard allows without intrusion.
Step 3 · If guest opens
“Good afternoon — would you prefer service now, or shall I return at a better time?”
Do say

Don't say
- · Just a quick clean
